ESCO Concave Segments

Double high segments allow 2 rows of ESCO concaves to replace 4 rows of standard OEM designs for fewer pieces to handle for fast replacement.

Wider is better – eight ESCO concaves replace 12 per-row segments of standard

OEM concaves, reducing the total from 48 to 16 and reducing seams that can wear and increase maintenance costs.

Features & Benefits

Increased Production

  • Faster wear part replacement increases uptime
  • Longer component life means more crusher availability
  • More efficient crushing increases throughput

Reduced Maintenance

  • Longer part life eliminates unnecessary replacement
  • Stronger, more durable design reduces the chance of premature failure
  • More efficient crushing reduces wear and tear on the equipment

Reduced Operating Costs

  • Increased throughput provides more quality product, less waste
  • Long lasting wear parts reduces maintenance and downtime

Pin or Key Concaves

Tapered dowel pins are driven between concaves forcing them outward to make contact with the top shell and create even spacing. The key concave has parallel sides and is easily removed with a wedge. Once the key concave is out, the remainder is easily removed.

ESCO designs concaves larger for fewer pieces to handle – resulting in less time to remove old segments and install new ones. Also, with larger segments there are fewer seams to wear which reduces maintenance costs. Larger castings generally have a lower cost per pound, resulting in a lower price per pound in production.

Mantles for Every Application

  • Smooth mantles are used mainly in mining applications to maximize production of fines.
  • Fully ribbed mantles are used mainly in aggregate applications to improve material flow by allowing fine materials to escape the chamber through the channels.
  • Partially ribbed mantles are ribbed on the top half of the mantle to maximize grip on larger rocks, while providing more metal in the high wear area of the crushing chamber. Partially ribbed mantles are often used where more wear metal is needed for abrasion resistance and to maintain the production of fines.

Ribbed Mantle Benefits

  • Grips rock better and reduces belching
  • Valleys provide channels for fine materials to escape the chamber, making room for new material and minimizing clogging

One-piece Mantles

  • Better to retain tightness
  • Easier to install and replace than two-piece mantles

Two-piece Mantles

  • Used to reduce throwaway metal
  • Upper mantle can be reused with 2 to 5 lower mantles
  • Consult an ESCO crushing expert to match the right configuration to specific crushing needs.

Gyratory Crusher Accessories

ESCO also offers accessory items for gyratory crusher including rim liners, spider caps and spider arm liners.
