Ultralok™ Tooth System

ESCO has long been the leader in innovation and performance for wear parts in the earthmoving industry. In keeping with that tradition, ESCO is excited to introduce the latest breakthrough in construction tooth systems, the Ultralok tooth system. Unlike any other design in the industry, the Ultralok tooth system offers a hammerless lock that is an integral part of the point. Not only is there increased safety with the hammerless design, but there is no longer a need to deal with separate pins or locks. Inventory is reduced and field replacement is simplified.
  • Ultralok Tooth System
Locking system is an integral part of the point for reduced inventory and ease-of-use
  • Hammerless locking device provides improved safety during installation and removal
  • Lower profile system increases penetration for greater productivity and reduced fuel consumption
  • Point replacement in the field is quick and easy for reduced downtime
  • Designed for reduced operating cost to provide more value to end-users
  • More useable wear metal to reduce maintenance and downtime

The Ultralok tooth system is the latest innovation from ESCO
performance and productivity like no other system offered today.

Ultralok™ Point Shapes

  • Ultralok Point Shapes
S: The S is a standard point for use on both excavators and wheel loaders. Designed to wear sharp to maintain penetration, and features a center rib for greater strength. An excellent choice for general purpose applications.
  • C: The C is a chisel point primarily for use on excavators. The design provides good penetration and extra wear metal in tough applications. The heavy-duty rib and unique tear-drop relief in the bottom keeps the point sharp throughout its wear life.
  • AP: The AP is a heavy-duty penetration point for wheel loaders with added wear metal for highly abrasive applications. The beveled tip design ensures sharpness, and the top center rib helps maintain the sharpness as the point wears. A wear shoe is integrated into the bottom to provide long life.
  • A :The A point is designed for optimum wear on wheel loaders working in extreme abrasion applications. The point tip is beveled and the top contoured panel ensures excellent material flow into the bucket. A bottom wear shoe runs the whole length of the point for maximum wear life and ensures a smooth floor to minimize the chance of tire damage.
  • P: The P is a pick point for extremely hard to penetrate materials, and is primarily designed for excavators but can be used on wheel loaders when conditions warrant it. Ribs on both the top and bottom provide strength and allow the point to stay sharp throughout its wear life.
  • T: The T is a twin pick point for maximum performance in hard to penetrate materials. The unique configuration minimizes the chance of rocks becoming wedged between the tines. The twin pick shape is designed to be used in the corner positions in conjunction with the P style point to cut clearance for the buckets sides. Each corner can be switched with the opposite corner to maximize the wear life.
  • F: The F is a flared point for general purpose digging, clean-up, and applications where a continuous edge may be used. The wide blade maximizes bucket capacity and is an excellent choice for trench bottoms and foundation excavations.

SV2® Tooth System

ESCO is the proven leader in wearparts and the SV2 tooth system is the latest innovation to service satisfied customers around the world.

The SV2 system is available with a full compliment of adapters and point shapes to suit mining-class hydraulic face shovels, excavators, wheel loaders and electric cable shovels.

A field proven, innovative mining tooth system that lasts longer, is stronger than other systems of similar size, and features hammerless installation and removal.

SV2 Tooth System
SV2 Tooth System Benefits:
  • Longer Life for Less Throwaway Weight: The slimmer nose profile allows points to be worn back farther than with other systems. Optimizing wear life reduces downtime for change-outs. Many of the popular point shapes provide up to 75% usable wear metal for a minimum of throwaway.
  • Slimmer Profile for Better Penetration: The slim profile nose allows slimmer teeth for better penetration without sacrificing wear metal and the sharp profile lasts for the life of the tooth. Better penetration reduces fuel consumption and wear and tear on the machine while increasing productivity.
  • Greater Nose Strength and Fatigue Life: The unique design maximizes strength to withstand the increased power of today’s machines. Prolonged use in the most severe conditions are met with greater fatigue resistance where other systems fail. Depending on the size and tooth shape selected, the SV2 system will provide up to a 30% increase in strength.
  • Improved System Safety: Every aspect of the SV2 system is designed with safety in mind. In addition to the hammerless locking system, the wear caps have hand grips built in for safer installation. The fit areas of the teeth and wear caps are designed to minimize wedging, making them easier to replace at change-outs.
  • Premium ESCO alloys: ESCO metallurgical expertise and premium alloys are known around the world. ESCO alloy 12K has a nominal hardness that is higher than any of the competition. But hardness is only a part of the equation. The severe impact of the most demanding applications also requires the toughness of ESCO alloy to insure maximum fatigue resistance.

Point Shapes for Hydraulic Excavators and Face Shovels

  • RX: General purpose point shape for moderate abrasion, penetration and sharp profile.
  • VX: Pick profile for maximum penetration. Ideal for hard to penetrate material like shale or in heavy frost conditions.
  • SD: Chisel taper for moderate penetration with excellent strength. Provides a good balance of penetration and wear life.
  • CHD: Extra heavy-duty chisel contour provides additional strength and wear metal, but also allows penetration.

Point Shapes for Cable Shovels

  • RXL: Long profile provides good balance of abrasion resistance and penetration in tough applications.
  • RXXL: Extra long contour provides maximum wear life while maintaining ability to penetrate.
  • RHXL: Extra heavy-duty long shape for optimum strength and maximum wear life in extreme conditions.

Point Shapes for Loaders

  • AG: Abrasion point with wear shoe provides good penetration with superior abrasion resistance.
  • ADHL: Extra heavy-duty shape with wear shoe for maximum abrasion resistance in the toughest conditions.
