ESCO uses a specifically formulated alloy to cast tough products that stand up to cyclical heating and cooling.

ESCO Alloy 12A1 Resists Thermal Fatigue
ESCO utilizes years of metallurgical experience to benefit the primary metals industry. ESCO cast alloy molds and vessels are the market leader in fighting the effects of thermal fatigue.

Long-lasting skim pots, dross pans, drain pans, salt pans, sow molds, and related items made by ESCO to customers’ specifications are helping copper, aluminum, zinc, and tough metal producers reduce costs associated with thermal fatigue and failure. Aluminum ingot molds, for example are subjected to thousands of heating and cooling cycles. If made of conventional steel alloys, these ingot molds quickly develop thermal fatigue cracks which lead to tub failure and costly replacement. ESCO alloy 12A1 ingot molds offer exceptional service life.

Aluminum Ingot molds are designed for better oxidation and thermal fatigue resistance to withstand the molecular stresses of high and low temperature swings, and resist premature cracking and mold deformation.
