ESCO communication tower products are designed to withstand the full minimum breaking load (MBL) for rope and strand without permanent deformation.
ESCO communication tower products include the Articulink pivoting connectors and specially designed open spelter sockets (EB and AL series), which incorporate innovative features specifically for the communication tower industry.
The ARTICULINK pivoting connectors provide articulation on guy assemblies in the ground connection and in the tower connection eliminating potentially premature guy cable fatiguing. These connectors are designed to fit with ESCO special AL series open spelter sockets and with ESCO closed take-up assemblies.
The
AL
series open spelter sockets are designed to mate with the Articulink pivoting connectors and provide:
- additional pin retention
- anti-pin rotation
- stainless steel cotterpins
- increased taper on the leading edge of the pin for easy insertion into the gusset plate connections, and
- a lifting eyebolt on the pin for safe handling of the pin during installation.
The EB series open spelter sockets have several innovative features, including:
- stainless steel cotterpins
- increased taper on the leading edge of the pin for easy insertion into the gusset plate connections, and
- a lifting eyebolt on the pin for safe handling of the pin during installation.
The innovative ESCO closed take-up assembly completes the line of communication tower products. The simple design eliminates the u-bolt, and the locking jamnuts on the take-up rods ensure safe, easy and quick field installation. Take-Up lengths can easily be increased to suit any application.
ESCO uses state-of-the-art design, manufacturing, testing and inspection technology and procedures to ensure that each casting meets or exceeds quality standards. All ESCO communication tower castings are manufactured in North America and conform to current applicable requirements of the Electronic Industries Association Standard EIA-222.
All Cast Components are manufactured to ASTM A148 Grade 105-85. ESCO uses the Argon Oxygen Decarburization (AOD) refining process to purify and strengthen cast steel alloys. No-bake sand molding techniques are used for excellent dimensional control and superior surface finish.
To insure complete traceability, each casting is individually serialized. Upon request, certified documentation on chemistry, mechanical properties, heat treating and non-destructive testing requirements are available.
ESCO manufactures a complete line of special fully engineered Communication Tower Products, ranging from cable diameters of ½" to 4.” Galvanized finish is standard on all components. |
