ESCO standard open and closed spelter sockets are designed to withstand the full minimum breaking load (MBL) for rope and strand without permanent deformation.
ESCO uses state-of-the-art design, manufacturing, testing and inspection technology and procedures to ensure that each strand and wire rope socket meets or exceeds quality standards. All sockets are manufactured in North America.
ESCO manufactures a complete line of standard, fully engineered spelter sockets, ranging from cable diameters of ½" to 6.” ESCO stocks most sizes, and sockets are available self-colored or galvanized.
All ESCO cast sockets larger than 1-1/2" in diameter are manufactured to ASTM A148 Grade 105-85. ESCO uses the argon oxygen decarburization (AOD) refining process to purify and strengthen cast steel alloys. No-bake sand molding techniques are used for excellent dimensional control and superior surface finish.
ESCO standard open and closed spelter sockets conform to the dimensional requirements of Federal Specification RRS-550D, and exceed the mechanical requirements of RRS-550D. Sockets are available with and without grooves.
To ensure complete traceability, each socket is individually serialized. Upon request, certified documentation on chemistry, mechanical properties, heat treating and non-destructive testing requirements are available. |
